Your 30th Wedding Anniversary Party is a time to celebrate all the good times from the last 30 years with your friends and family.

Traditionally being married for 30 years is celebrated with pearls and this is a great theme for your party, so when you have decided on how many people to invite and where to have your party here is how to add a pearly touch to your celebrations

Start with your invitations, they set the mood and the theme for your party, you can order or buy them from a stationers or design them yourself. If you make your own invites they are much more personal. You could use a picture of a pearl from clipart on the front or you could cut the card to represent the shape of a pearl or even an oyster shell.

For pearl themed decorations for the party, balloons work very well, you can get pearl colored balloons which you can have in clusters on the table or have as a string of pearls across the room.

Table centerpieces are amazing combined with mother of pearl, you can buy plant pots and plates decorated with mother of pearl which you could combine with floating candles and cream rose petals in the water. Have a look in local thrift shops for old broken imitation pearl necklaces as you could use the beads to decorate your centerpiece, craft shops also sell pearl beads for decoration.

Your anniversary food for your 30th anniversary could be seafood with oysters to continue the theme but not everyone likes or can eat seafood so you may be better off having a buffet of lots of yummy goodies rather than trying too hard to stick with the pearl theme. Nothiing worse than hungry guests.

On the night make sure you play plenty of songs from 30 years ago to get everyone up and dancing.
