For a recent lecture, I prepared a detailed chronology of Polycarp's life. The bishop of Smyrna was martyred in 155 CE, as recounted in The Martyrdom of Polycarp. Though he was enormously influential, we have limited information about his life and career. This document pieces together the details from various sources.
